Mardel, these are gorgeous photos! Love the new top--and the haircut is spectacular!

I hope you get into the new house soon.

metscan

Good to hear from you.
I liked your previous hairstyle, but the new one suites you too. I understand you wanting to experience on something new, as everything else is new too : ).

Lois Allen

We just downsized ourselves and I agree with you. Things are much less stressful.
I love your hair. You look very nice.

Lisette

I like your haircut too!

K-Line

I love that last pic. All the layered images. And I think the hair cut suits you perfectly. Sounds like things are not going so badly!

Susan Tiner

I love you in this new cut, you remind me of Evangeline from The Houses of Elliot right after she cut her hair. It's a flattering cut, perfect for your face.

Your face looks beautiful in both photos, but I agree with G, the first one is the best.

The Brazilian agate pendant really caught my eye. I'm developing a thing for pendants.

Seraphinalina

Lovely. I remember the last time I cut a significant amount of hair off and my stylist kind of got it to curl. I caught my reflection in the hall closet and thought, oh who's that?

Terri

I have no prior picture of yourself to compare this with...but it looks like a great cut and that photo is absolutely cubist.

materfamilias

I love your haircut!
As for living in less space, I love how simple life is in our Vanc'r apartment. I admit that we don't use it for long periods at a time, but I like the way it shifts our focus. We're in 1700 sq. ft. in our place on the island and less than 500 in the city (so neither's very big, obviously) -- Sometimes I wish we had an extra room for this or that, but I'm such a magpie that I know those would soon be full of my clutter. Less space = more editing, which can be a good thing, right?

Rubiatonta

What a great haircut! The flat iron takes a little getting used to, but it's easier to learn on shorter hair...

I know what you mean about living in a much smaller space -- the only thing I'm missing in my short-term micro-flat is a dedicated workspace, but I'm learning to work around it.

Hang in there!

LPC

I too love that second photo. The smile, the eyes, the blue, the gilt frame and yes, the smile:). I love the way you write about this part of your life.

RoseAG

I think photo #2 is the best.

Just wait until your stuff arrives. After getting along without it for awhile you probably won't even want to unpack it all.

My Photo

  • I used to think of myself as continually distracted, but that is far from the truth. The truth is that I find the world to be filled with fascinating things that capture my attention. When I am doing something I love, be it reading a book, listening to music, sewing, knitting, learning something new, or just daydreaming, I am so totally focused that the intrusion of the world comes as something of a shock. There are so many things pulling at my hearstrings, so many things in which to lose myself, so many things tempting away from my one true passion ..... of the moment. I want to explore them all. Despite these changing passions, there are some constants in my affections: sewing, knitting, style and clothing, music, food. These are the main topics I will consider here, although there will be digressions and explorations as well.
