Looking from Doorway to Southeast. Cutting table is in center of room, extending from South Wall between closet doorway and the windows. File cabinets provide a great deal of storage with easy access. Windows and doors will probably be repainted but weather is not yet good for leaving windows open.
South East corner of the room. Standing at ironing board allows me to look out the windows (for a change). The small turquoise cabinet was the base for Matilda but it does not fit at the moment. Iam not sure if it will stay here, it is kind of in the way. Matilda will eventually graduate to a wheeled stand.
Looking across cutting table to East-Southeast corner of room. Hammock chair in middle of room is a comfortable place to sit and read or knit.
East wall with Hammock and thread cabinet with press. I originally wanted the hammock chair to go in the corner of this wall near the cubby units which occupy the North wall. The chair would have been out of the way and access to the cubbies would have made this a nice place to sit. Even though I was told this was my room and I could do whatever I wanted, this idea was firmly vetoed. The chair resides in the center of the room. It is not in the way when I am sitting in it, or no one is in it, but otherise occupied it is right between the press and the ironing board and traffic must flow around the occupant of the chair.
Thread cabinet with press. Rolling cart is easily moved for access to shelving. Cart is my rolling office and contains all necessary work supplies. It can be moved over to desk or out of way as needed.
North East corner of wall of cubbies containing fabric, yarn, and tons of books.
North Wall next to doorway into house. Area around doorway has not been papered because I have not yet taken the old shelving unit off the West Wall which extends over the doorway. This is the last part of the new sewing room to be designed.
Edge of open door to house, new sewing counter. Wall is painted below counter and not above. New shelving unit to be designed and wall still to be painted.
Sewing counter with computer monitor. All remaining items to be stored on shelving unit have been sorted through and stored on these shelves but new shelving system is to be designed and built before existing shelves are dismantled and walls are painted. In the meanitme sewing commences.
